אילפא תלא נפשיה באיסקריא דמכותא אמר איכא דאתי דאמר לי מילתא דבי רבי חייא ורבי אושעיא ולא פשיטנא ליה ממתניתין נפילא מאסקריא וטבענא

Ilfa hung himself up on a sail mast and said: If anyone can come and tell me any statement made by R. Hiyya or R. Oshaia which I cannot make clear to him [with the aid] of our Mishnah I will fall from the mast and drown myself.”
